OMD-1800

18 Channel CWDM Optical Mux/Demux

Samim OMD-1800, as a CWDM mux and demux, is a bidirectional passive optical multiplexer and de-multiplexer, allowing multiple optical signals at different wavelengths to pass through a single optical fiber link.
Samim CWDM multiplexer and de-multiplexer combines up to 18 different wavelengths from different optical fibers into a single optical fiber, transceive the link, and separates it back to maximum 18 different wavelength optical signals.

Overview

Samim CWDM Optical Mux / Demux, or OMD-1800, is designed for multi-purpose use in broadcast, telecommunications, and IT Industries. It offers an efficient and cost-effective solution for optical signal transmission. This hardware module can multiplex or merge up to 18 different optical links with different wavelengths into a single optical fiber link, transceive it, and then separate it back to maximum 18 optical signal lines. This in turn results in optimizing bandwidth without the need for utilizing additional fiber optic links.
One of the most important advantages of our CWDM mux / demux is the great scalability and flexibility concerning various needs in signal transmission workflows. This product ensures reliable transmission of 3G/HD/SD – SDI, Ethernet, data, or any other AV signals over fiber optic links, providing a streamlined way to manage audio and video sources in the least possible bandwidth consumption and precise signal transport.
The passive operation of Samim OMD-1800 is a professional feature of the product that enables it to act without any external power and to ensure very low signal degradation, maintaining the quality even over long distances. the module supports the transmission of multiple audio and visual optical channels through just a single fiber optic link, reducing the costs of infrastructure and cabling.

The optical mux/ demux can be housed in Samim 3RU or 1RU frames along with the required SDI/fiber converters for proper setup and cabling. The main use of the Samim’s module is real-time transmission of high-quality uncompressed audio-video signals in live production procedures, but meanwhile it is also possible to utilize it in other industries like telecommunications, IT, … to transmit any kind of data over fiber optic as easy and smooth as possible.
