IP / TS Multiplexer

At a Glance

SAMIM TSP-1000 is designed to provide and monitor signals for digital television transmitters. It supports ASI inputs, satellite signals (DVB-S/S2), terrestrial signals (DVB-T/T2), and TS-over-IP. This product features Samim's new generation remultiplexer core, which offers higher efficiency and more flexibility compared to previous generations. The output signals of the the IP Multiplexer device include ASI and TS-over-IP.

SAMIM Transport Stream Multiplexer supports both service and component-level multiplexing. Powerful Real-Time MPEG TS analyzer and output TS program modifying such as name, PID, PCR PID, and program number are also available.
With the integration of flexibility, scalability, and serviceability, the platform can handle everything from only one transport stream over an ASI connection to re-multiplexing hundreds of programs into multiple output streams with IP encapsulation. Its high-integrated and cost-effective design makes it widely used in various digital broadcasting distribution systems.

Structure

The operational sections of the Samim IP Multiplexer product include:

1- Physical inputs
2- Logical inputs
3- Smart input switches
4- Remux cores
5- Smart output switches

Physical inputs, such as hardware inputs like tuners and ASIs capable of receiving a TS stream, are considered physical inputs to the system. Streams received from any network socket are also considered physical inputs.

Logical inputs: The Remux core can process services and tables from up to 8 TS streams. These 8 inputs are referred to as logical inputs at the beginning of the Remux core layer.

Smart input switches: In the input layer of the Remux core, a smart switch is considered for each of the 8 logical inputs so that a reserved input is defined for each one, and in the event that is announced by the user, the switching operation between the logical input and its reserved input can be performed.

Remux cores: The most important part of the system, which has the capability of remultiplexing the user-selected services in two levels of service and component from its 8 logical inputs.

Smart output switch: in system output, a smart switch is considered to send the signal without error so that in case of an error in the output of each Remux core, the possibility of switching the output with an input considered by the user is provided.

    TSP-UI-2

  • Through the web-based user interfaces of all SAMIM products, operators can easily perform controlling and monitoring tasks in real-time.
  • SAMIM TSP-1000 includes a user-friendly interface which can be accessed through web or internal networks over IP or other protocols like SNMP.

By the interface, TSP admins are able to configure all the settings and put the product to work under a detailed monitoring and analysis. They can define specific user levels and their related access permissions to provide a comprehensive and secure management of the product operations. Moreover, the operators benefit from an embedded web server for TSP control and configuration to provide fast , smooth and protected workflows in real-time.
Through the UI, Transport Stream Analyzing can be monitored in three different view modes: PID, Service and Table; This feature is very important for Broadcasters and live media publishers.
